Misconceptions & Recommendations
of Hypnosis

How Does Hypnosis Feel?
Sorry to inform you but, the earth will not move. Nor will you go
into spontaneous quacking like a duck or have your seat suddenly feel
hot as in stage hypnosis. You will NOT lose control in anyway
(physically or mentally) and can NOT mistakenly stay in hypnosis
for the remainder of your life having to be feed with a sling shot
by your unappreciating siblings. You will not turn into a zombie and
you CAN NOT be made to do anything that DOES NOT exist within your
values and ethics to what is acceptable to you.
Most people will enjoy a state of physical and mental relaxation that
is enjoyable and stress free. You hear everything and are completely
functional. You will be able to open your eyes at anytime and be
able to end the session at anytime and walk away if you desire. But
the hypnotic state is so comforting that you will welcome it and want
to get to business, to the root of your problem.
When you think about it, what really is hypnosis?
Hypnosis
is the use of words and communication. No physical intervention in
anyway. The use of words to relax mentally and physically to get into
the hypnotic state. Then the use of words to communicate to the
subconscious mind to correct the wrong analysis & rationalizations
and limiting beliefs of
the conscious mind.
That's it!
Amazingly simple. Amazingly effective.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR SUCCESS
There are
three recommendations to achieve optimal success:
-
1. Fears
and concerns about hypnosis need to be resolved before starting the
hypnotic session. This is addressed and resolved in the first
twenty minutes of the session.
-
2. The
client must have the personal desire for change, not be doing it
because someone else said they should do it.
-
3. A law
of the mind is: What the mind expects to happen tends to be
realized. The best attitude is: I trusted and I know its going to
work. Commonly after an effective hypnosis
session, a positive attitude of success is natural, but having the
expectation before the session is even better.
Know and trust in your hypnotist's ability by consulting with them
ahead of time and researching their training to assure your confidence
in them. (I was fortunate to train at the Omni Hypnosis Training
Center from one of the most nationally recognized hypnotists and
industry thought leaders, Gerald Kein.

In my option great qualifying questions for choosing a hypnotist
are:
- How long does it take to get
into the hypnotic state?
- Are you confident in
regression therapy?
If they do not answer in 5
minutes or less and I am confident and knowledgeable in regression
therapy. Avoid them!
